International sweets fair ISM is offering companies younger than five years to exhibit for a reduced fee at its new ‘Start-up Area’.

The confectionery trade fair will take place alongside processing, packaging and ingredients show ProSweets in Cologne, Germany, from January 28 to 31, 2018.

ISM last year attracted 1,647 exhibitors across 110,000 m² and 38,000 visitors.

Small companies eager to test prospects

Christine Hackmann, communications manager at ISM organizer Koelnmesse, told ConfectioneryNews: “The ‘Start-up area’ was created for those small companies that are eager to test their prospects although they only have a small budget on their disposal.

“It is exclusively meant for start-ups founded within the last five years.”

‘Start-up area’ booths are 4 sq m and cost €2,050 ($2,400). The price includes basic stand equipment. Details HERE.

Larger booths and Snacks Pavilion

Koelnmesse also offers larger booths in its ‘Newcomer area’, designed for first-time exhibitors to ISM. These 6 sq m stands cost €3,729 ($4,472), excluding VAT.

“The charming factor is that in either area it is always a small booth where everything is already arranged,” said Hackmann.

If a company needs or wants more space it cannot participate in the newcomer or start-up areas, but has other options available. See HERE.

Koelnmesse will also introduce a Snacks Pavilion at ISM designed for fruit, vegetable, breakfast snacks and meat snack companies.

The organizer said last month around 90% of total ISM exhibition space is already booked.

Participating companies include Baronie, Cémoi, Guylian, Katjes, PEZ, Toms Confectionery, Trolli and United Confectioners, among others.
